Words of Praise                                      Romans 5:1-5, 1 Peter 1:3-5

Song of Praise                         “My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less”

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness;

I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name.*

When darkness veils his lovely face, I rest on his unchanging grace;

In every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil.*

His oath, his covenant, his blood support me in the whelming flood;

When all around my soul gives way,

He then is all my hope and stay.*

When he shall come with trumpet sound,

O may I then in him be found;

Dressed in his righteousness alone,

Faultless to stand before the throne.*

*On Christ, the solid rock, I stand;

All other ground is sinking sand,

All other ground is sinking sand.

Words of Praise                                   Romans 8:18-21, 1 Peter 5:10

Song of Praise                                                                “I Will Rise”

There's a peace I've come to know,

Though my heart and flesh may fail.

There's an anchor for my soul-

I can say, “It is well.”

*Jesus has overcome, and the grave is overwhelmed;

The victory is won, He is risen from the dead.

And I will rise when He calls my name;

No more sorrow, no more pain.

I will rise on eagles' wings;

Before my God fall on my knees,

And rise, I will rise.

There's a day that's drawing near

When this darkness breaks to light,

And the shadows disappear,

And my faith shall be my eyes.*

And I hear the voice of many angels sing,

“Worthy is the Lamb!”

And I hear the cry of every longing heart,

“Worthy is the Lamb!” (x2)

“Worthy is the Lamb!”

I will rise when He calls my name;

No more sorrow, no more pain.

I will rise on eagles' wings;

Before my God fall on my knees,

And rise, I will rise. I will rise.

            [adapted from The Valley of Vision]

Heavenly Father, You have purchased us with the blood of Your Son.  We seek Your grace, that we may live worthy of our calling.

We journey across life's ocean.  Safe in Your ark, may we pass through this troubled world, to the place of eternal rest.

Yet today, You have planted us here.  May we not be fruitless, with worthless leaves.  Prune us of uselessness.  Water us with Your blessing.

We are Your people; help us to be true, faithful, loving, pure and devoted.  May we not flirt with the world, or love the things of this world.

May Your love fill us.  May we joy in Your glory.  May we follow Your truth.  May we rest in Your cross.

As we live today, may we look forward to the hope of heaven, where no sin will oppress, no unbelief will dim our eyes, and no labor will grow weary.

May these truths be the fortress of our souls.  Amen.

The Lord's Prayer and the Blessing                               Revelation 1

To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father, to Him be glory and power forever and ever!  Amen.

Song of Sending                                     “Let Your Kingdom Come”

Your glorious cause, O God, engages our hearts,

May Jesus Christ be known wherever we are,

We ask not for ourselves, but for your renown,

The cross has saved us so we pray,

Your Kingdom come.

Let Your kingdom come, Let Your will be done,

So that everyone might know Your name,

Let Your song be heard everywhere on earth,

Till Your sovereign work on earth is done,

Let Your kingdom come.

Give us Your strength, O God, and courage to speak,

Perform Your wondrous deeds through those who are weak,

Lord use us as You want, whatever the test,

By grace we'll preach Your gospel,

Till our dying breath.
